Who We Are

We are a small grassroots 501c3 non-profit organization that is faith based and ran solely by volunteers. We understand what it is like to struggle financially on a daily basis. Whether you are working with a family; single; elderly; or disabled our goal is to help those who need a hand. We can not do this alone however! This is where the community comes in and helps us out by donating clothing, furniture and household items so we can in turn, give to those who need it - hence, "Hand To Hand."  We would love to help everyone, however we are limited to the Bristol, Connecticut area. We operate a thrift store which helps generate money for our Ministry, and in turn help our community. We  accept donations during regular business hours, and are able to take applications for those in need of help.

What We Do

Our wish is to do what God has asked us all to do - help one another! We help furnish homes and help clothe individuals and families who may be just starting out, starting over, or just need extra help. Everything we provide is free of charge, and we try to provide a sense of dignity and calmness to our clients in their time of need. We cannot guarantee we will have what you need right then, but we will do our best to obtain it. We are always seeking donations from the community of clothes, furniture, and household items. Of course money would always help, and please note we do not give money to any families. All money would go toward our operating expenses. If you have any questions or would like to donate or help in some way, please feel free to contact us via phone, Facebook or on our contact page. We look forward to working with our communities and doing HIS work. God Bless.

Our History

In 2014 Reverend Freddie Jones started Hand To Hand Direct Care Ministry from a storage unit located in Bristol, CT. He wanted to help people who may be struggling financially by offering them clothes and household items. He and his wife began receiving donations at the storage unit and holding Household and Clothing Giveaways. People responded generously and before you know it they began to outgrow the storage unit. This is when they decided to open a "brick and mortar" business, and opened a storefront in 2016 where they can give and receive items easily.
